All festival gardens get assessed. Every garden goes through this process on a three yearly cycle.
New Zealand Gardens Trust
The New Zealand Gardens Trust, an initiative of the Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture, provides an independent assessment of New Zealand gardens.
You will note that some gardens in our festival have chosen to be assessed by the Trust as well as under-going the festival’s own assessment process.
These gardens can be identified by the placement of the NZGT logo reflecting either a Garden of Significance, National or International Significance.
