16. Hirst Cottage

94 Pendarves St

This inner-city minimalist garden adopts linear principles and is themed ‘green and white with a touch of red’. It features white petunia, white lilies and black velvet pelargonium, with the ambience of courtyards, gazebo and buxus hedging. This 1865 propery holds a Heritage A listing and stands alongside the historical cluster known as Hen and Chickens. The protected oaks, ginkgo and pohutukawa add to the unique story. Previously featured in NZ House & Garden, Your Home & Garden and NZ House & Garden Tours 2020.

7. Frog Lodge

Frog Lodge will not be opening this year.
David and Noeline Sampson have made the right decision for their family not to open for the festival. David suffered major injuries after a fall last month, which caused serious damage to both legs. He is still on the long road to recovery. I’m sure you will all agree with us, this is the right move but a very sad one.

We wish him a full recovery. Read More >
