Life should be about gorgeous gardens and long lunches. You can do both in Hawera on the second Saturday of our garden festival.
Take a bus from the TAFT office and head to the graceful Tairoa Lodge for a house tour and three-course luncheon with wine tasting from Mike Radich. Then take a gentle wander around the festival garden and before heading back on the bus.
At a long table in the soothing festival garden, you can enjoy a salad of prosciutto, roasted pear, Kikorangi blue cheese, candied Egmont “Raw” Honey walnuts and rocket, served with pomegranate & honey vinaigrette.
Next, you’ll be served a “Paddock to Plate” offering of lamb rump cooked medium rare on potato gratin with pistachio, mint pesto & baby roasted beets with a wine jus. To finish, there’s a lemon & Juno Gin trifle with lemon sorbet.
This will be a delectable event, perfect for friends wanting to enjoy all the good things in life.
Gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available for each course.
